November 6th Andrew visited Angela for the last time to THANK her and her customers and to collect her monies raised and to wish her well before her new life in Australia.
After dinner, Andrew gave a brief talk on saving lives at sea, dating back to 1777, when the first unsinkable boat was designed, following up with how two centuries have seen vast developments in the lifeboats and kit used by the charity’s lifesavers. In every single one of those lifeboats, the crew have been the same: unwilling to stand by and do nothing when people are in trouble. And the generosity of our supporters hasn’t changed either. It’s a powerful combination of kindness and courage – together we’ve saved more than 146,000 lives.

Every volunteer should be extremely proud, as we are, to be part of this Charity and what it stands for. We will continue to work hard to raise money to save lives at sea just like we both have done for the last 54 years and counting. Let’s keep going for the 201st year!!
Yvonne and myself had been asked ironically on the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI, March 4th, if we would attend an Afternoon Cream Tea fundraising event on July 13th..
When we arrived we were greeted by the pictures above which were adorning the church. They had been produced by the Lepton Rainbows who have completed their https://girlguidingnortheast.org.uk/…/mayday-mayday…/
